Bekhrad International Inspection Services (BIS) was established in 1992 by a group of professionals coming from a variety of disciplines such as inspection, insurance and banking. Company was established as an Iranian private joint stock and was registered under registration number 92575 in Tehran.

An alliance with one leading European hydrocarbon Inspection and testing company until mid-2005, gave impetus to start of operations at Khark Island for inspection of outbound crude carriers, soon joined by inspection of imported and exported petroleum products and petrochemicals at Bandar Imam Khomeini and Bandar Abbas. Although petroleum and related products formed the core of activity, BIS soon diversified into providing inspection services in a variety of fields and to a diverse range of clients.
